Sheriff's Deputies Capture Daytime Burglar in Anderson Township

SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES CAPTURE DAYTIME BURGLAR IN ANDERSON TOWNSHIP
Anderson Township, Ohio, August 28, 2009 - Sheriff Simon L. Leis, Jr., Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, reports the arrest of Delbert Burton, age 33, 734 Lewis Street, Covington, Kentucky, by Sheriff's Deputies in Anderson Township. Burton is being charged with the burglary of an Anderson Township home.
At approximately 1:05 PM today an Anderson Township citizen returned to her home in the 7400 block of Clough Pike, Anderson Township. As she pulled into her residence she noticed a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro parked in her driveway and an unknown male white inside a screened porch attached to the side of the home. The unknown suspect was able to flee to his vehicle and flee westbound on Clough Pike.
The homeowner immediately called 911 and provided a description of the fleeing vehicle and the unknown male. At 1:16 PM Sheriff's Deputies located the vehicle being driven in the 7600 block of Four Mile Road, Anderson Township, and immediately arrested the suspect. Deputies also located, near the stopped vehicle, a bag containing miscellaneous jewelry and a pair of latex gloves.
The victim identified the recovered jewelry as being costume jewelry, two watches, and several rings stolen from her residence.
The arrested suspect is identified as Delbert Burton, DOB 06/13/1976 (33), of 734 Lewis Street, Covington, Kentucky. Burton is being charged with Burglary, a 2nd degree felony, and will be transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center to await arraignment.

Tri-State businesses should be on the lookout for an official looking letter that's really a scam.
Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson is warning people about a scam circulating through Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. The scam targets businesses, informing them that they are required by law to submit an “Annual Minutes Disclosure Statement.”
